Who We Are

Turning grief into purpose. Making Outdoor Adventure SAFE.

The Origin Story

The Warren Foundation (TWF) is a registered, certified non-profit organisation founded in 2016. Its origin is rooted in a deeply personal tragedy — the untimely passing of Master Warren Muga Asiyo on Mt. Kenya on 4 December 2015 due to altitude-related sickness. Warren was only 14 years old.

In the wake of this loss, Warren’s parents — joined by families of other young climbers — chose not to accept it as “just another accident.” Instead, they committed to turning grief into purpose.

Thus, TWF was born — with one mission: Make Outdoor Adventure SAFE for everyone.

Our Mission

To transform mountaineering and outdoor adventure in Kenya into a safe, professional and enriching experience — where every climber returns home.
